Home Computer Care
Optional monthly care for 1–3 home computers: antivirus that someone actually watches, updates done for you, and a little of Wade's time each month. Plain terms, no contract.
Three sizes, same care
Pick by how many computers live in your house. Everything below is included in all three.
Home Plus
Up to 2 computers
30 minutes of troubleshooting per month
Priority scheduling
Home Pro
Up to 3 computers
60 minutes of troubleshooting per month
Same-day priority · backup check included
Included in every plan
- Managed antivirus — business-grade (Bitdefender GravityZone), licensed by Wade, installed and monitored. Replaces whatever expired trial is nagging you now.
- Updates done for you — Windows or macOS and common apps (browsers, Zoom, Adobe Reader) scheduled so you're not clicking "remind me later" for a year.
- Health monitoring — disk space, failing-drive warnings, failed updates, antivirus status, crash events.
- Alert review during business hours — Wade looks at what the monitoring flags and calls you if it matters.
- Monthly status email — one plain-English paragraph per computer.
- Troubleshooting minutes — shared across your covered computers, used when you call with a problem.
Not included (priced separately, always quoted first)
- In-home visits ($75 first hour, $60/hr after) and hardware repairs or parts.
- Full malware cleanup if an infection gets through ($79, priority scheduling on a plan), ransomware response, data recovery.
- Cloud backup storage subscriptions (Google/Microsoft/Apple bill you directly). Home Pro includes checking that the backup ran.
- Troubleshooting past your monthly minutes — billed at the normal $49 session rate with your OK.
- Nights and weekends. After-hours emergency help is available at the emergency rate if Wade can take it.
- Phones, tablets, smart TVs and printers as covered devices (Wade still helps with them — using your minutes or a session).
What's installed, what Wade can see, and who can get in
Installed software
Two things: the antivirus and a small monitoring agent (the same kind of tool IT departments use). Both are installed with you present, after you've signed the one-page Care agreement. Nothing else, and nothing hidden.
Information collected
Device name, hardware model, operating system version, installed programs and their versions, disk space, update status, antivirus events, crash logs, and whether the machine is online. Not your files, photos, email, passwords or browsing history.
Remote access
Default: Wade asks, you say yes, you watch. Optional: you can authorize unattended access in writing (handy for overnight updates) and revoke it whenever you like. Every remote session is logged and you can ask to see the log.
Cancelling & offboarding
Month to month, no contract. Cancel by phone or email; you're billed only through the current month. Wade removes the agent and the antivirus license from your computers, shuts off any access, and confirms it in writing. If you'd like, he'll leave a free antivirus in place so you're not unprotected.
Everything on this page is written into the one-page Home Care agreement you sign before anything is installed.
How the data is handled is in the privacy policy; the money terms are in the terms of service.
Straight answers
Do I have to be on a plan to get help?
No. The $49 remote fix and every flat-rate repair are always available with no plan. Home Care is for people who want their computer looked after between problems.
What exactly gets installed on my computer?
One small monitoring agent and a business-grade antivirus, both installed by Wade with your written permission. The agent reports device health (disk space, failed updates, antivirus status, crash events) — it does not read your files, email, photos or browsing history.
Can Wade get into my computer whenever he wants?
Not unless you have specifically authorized unattended access in writing. The default is that Wade asks first, every time, and you watch the session. If you do authorize unattended access (some people prefer updates done overnight), you can revoke it at any time.
What happens to my troubleshooting minutes if I don't use them?
They don't roll over. Fifteen minutes is enough for a stuck printer or a confusing pop-up; if a bigger problem comes up, Wade quotes it before doing the work — usually at the normal $49 session rate.
Is this 24/7 protection?
The antivirus runs 24/7 on your computer. Wade reviews alerts during business hours, Mon–Fri 8–6. If something serious happens overnight, the antivirus blocks it and Wade follows up the next business morning. Round-the-clock human response by a security team is part of Business Care, not Home Care.
Does it cover a virus infection or ransomware?
The plan is designed to prevent them and it includes normal alert follow-up. If an infection does get through, you get priority scheduling and a fair quote for the cleanup — the plan is not unlimited incident recovery or data recovery.
How do I cancel?
Call or email. No contract, no cancellation fee. Wade removes the agent and the antivirus license, and confirms in writing that access has been shut off.
Run a business? You need the other plan.
Business Care covers office workstations with 24/7 managed detection & response by a security team, patching and reporting — from $39 per computer.
